As you guys know, I’m currently expecting and it’s been quite the journey so far! With all the changes happening to my body, my skin has definitely been affected too. So, it was time to revamp my skincare routine. If you guys didn’t know, there are actually certain beauty products that can’t be used during pregnancy. So if you are a momma-to-be, you will need to take a look at everything you are using to make sure they are clean and safe. Also, your skin can really change and become more sensitive, so you want to make changes that cater to your skin’s specific needs. Here are the holy grail products that have been saving my skin lately:
Cleanse:
- Youth to the People: Superfood Gentle Cleanser: Pregnant or not, this is my favorite gentle cleanser!
- Bioderma Micellar Water: Hands down the best makeup remover and leaves no residue. My skin feels so much cleaner and fresher after I switched to this.
Eye cream:
- Dr. Jart+: eye cream: This stuff is such a game changer! Love how it smooths and brightens my under eyes making me look more awake than I feel LOL.
Moisturizer:
- Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: I use this as a mask about once a week and occasionally as a daily moisturizer.
- The Ordinary Natural Moisturizer: Super lightweight and great for an everyday moisturizer. I love how affordable this brand is!
Lips:
- Laneige Lip Mask: A beauty routine staple! I use this every night before bed and I wake up with perfectly hydrated lips.
- Olehenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment: My new favorite! This stuff is seriously amazing! I use it daily, throughout the entire day, and love how hydrated my lips are.
Retinol Alternative:
- Olehenriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum: This is a reminder that you should not use Retinol in pregnancy due to potential harm to the pregnancy/baby. This Retinol alternative has been my go-to since Cory and I decided to start trying to conceive and I love it!
SPF:
- Elta MD: I love the tinted version of this!
- La Roche Posay Tinted Sunscreen: This is slightly more oily/slippery than the Elta MD, but I love it just the same. It leaves such a pretty glow.
